Kram Restaurants consists of five KFC franchises operating throughout Surrey.

Employing 150 staff, covering 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, Kram Restaurants is a cash business relying heavily on the speed, accuracy and reliability of its 50 suppliers to keep things running smoothly – including their payroll provider.

The majority of the 150 employees are paid weekly including bonuses, variable shift patterns, and variable working hours. A smaller proportion are monthly salaried paid staff. Like most fast food restaurants staff turnover is high and the workforce is made up largely of young people who expect their money on time and without mistakes. To minimize staff turnover and avoid the complexities of changing legislation, and age breaks the company decided early on that payroll outsourcing would be the best option.

A methodical, accurate routine that pays dividends time and again

Kram Restaurant’s payroll routine is as methodical as it is accurate. Mark dials into each store on a Monday morning and prints off a report showing everyone’s hours worked. He checks everything and makes any adjustments such as bonuses or statutory holidays before faxing it to Moorepay via their standard input sheet. Moorepay process the data on Tuesday and by 8.30 on Wednesday morning the slips arrive by courier to Mark’s house and that same day are delivered personally to each member of staff. Funds are transferred to staff’s bank accounts via BACS 2 days later.
