ERA Readiness Series: getting to grips with day one rights

Thursday 26 February | 10 – 11am

The Employment Rights Act 2025 (ERA) brings some of the biggest changes to employment law we’ve seen in decades.

Many of those changes are fast approaching, and the impact on HR will be felt most in how policies and processes work in practice, not just how they read on paper.

In this Smart Talk, we tackle some of the more contentious reforms set to land this April, focusing on day-one rights and what they mean operationally. We’ll look at how Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and family-related leave changing from day one affects decision-making and planning, and where employers are most likely to feel the pressure.

We’ll also touch on the direction of travel for collective redundancy reforms and why it’s worth tightening up your approach now rather than later.

Designed to help you move beyond awareness and into action, this session focuses on what HR teams need to have in place to handle these changes confidently and defensibly.

This session will be led by Patrick Cunningham, Head of HR Operations, and is ideal for HR managers and leaders looking to get clear on day one rights, sense-check their current approach and put practical changes in place ahead of April 2026.

About this series

Moorepay’s Smart Talks presents…
The ERA Readiness Series

Come along to our free three-part training series designed to help HR teams get to grips with the most significant Employment Rights Act changes before they go live.

With day one rights, SSP reform, and tougher compliance expectations right around the corner, it’s no surprise many employers are feeling the pressure. This series is built to cut through the noise and focus on what actually matters in practice.

Across three linked Smart Talks we’ll take you from understanding the changes, to working through the areas of highest operational impact to sense-checking whether your policies and processes are truly ready for the April reforms. By the end of the series, you’ll have a clear view of what needs to change, where the biggest risks lie and how to apply the reforms confidently in real-world situations.
