AI Grievances & Tribunals Series: Tribunal-ready in the age of AI

Tuesday 7 July | 10 – 11am

Tribunal claims surged by a staggering 54% in the final quarter of 2025, according to the latest stats from the Ministry of Justice.

And with some Tribunal hearings reportedly now being pushed as far out as 2029 in certain areas of the UK, it’s clear the system is already under huge strain. Experts advise the widespread use of AI is likely a key cause of this uplift.

We’ve seen first-hand that AI is starting to shape formal processes more widely, from disciplinaries and capability procedures to appeals and Tribunal claims. The biggest benefit to this is AI tools can empower employees, who might have otherwise stayed quiet, express their concerns more clearly and raise them with confidence. But the lower barrier to entry comes with a catch. Once AI starts shaping employee appeals or tribunal claims too, matters can escalate faster, feel more adversarial from the outset, and take far longer to work through properly.

In this session, we’ll look at where AI is starting to change formal process in real terms, where the risks are building, and what you need to do to stay fair, consistent and defensible as issues start to escalate.

This Smart Talk is ideal for HR and business leaders who want to understand how AI is changing formal workplace issues and how to respond with confidence when the stakes are higher.

About this series

Moorepay’s Smart Talks presents the AI Grievances & Tribunals Series

AI has infiltrated formal processes… and HR need to brace themselves for what’s coming.

AI is making it easier than ever for employees to raise concerns and challenge decisions. On one hand, it means helping people speak up when they might otherwise have said nothing at all. On the other, it can mean matters escalate faster, feel more hostile from the outset, and become much harder to untangle once the formal process kicks in.

What once might have been resolved with an informal conversation can now land as a fleshed-out grievance – or even a Tribunal claim in some cases – before you’ve had chance to get to the heart of the issue.

In this Smart Talk series, we’ll explore how AI is reshaping formal process at every stage, from grievances and disciplinaries to appeals and Tribunal claims. We’ll look at where it may genuinely help, where it risks making matters more complex, and what employers need to get right if they want their process to hold up now that the pressure’s on.

Across three linked sessions, we’ll take you through:

So whether you’re trying to spot the signs early or just make sure your approach stands up under pressure, this series will help you stay one step ahead of the AI avalanche.
