The fiscal plan was announced on17 November 2022 by the new chancellor, Jeremy Hunt and was also upgraded to a full autumn statement. HM Treasury said in an announcement on 26 October: “it will contain the UK’s medium-term fiscal plan to put public spending on a sustainable footing, get debt falling and restore stability.”
